Coffee Pot Sweet Tea

  • Using an electric coffee machine, place 4 family size tea bags in the strainer basket.
  • Brew your tea just like how you'd make coffee -- keep adding water to the machine as needed. Pour the completed tea into a 1 gallon container as it fills.
  • Add 2.25 cups of sugar to the pitcher and stir well.
  • Refrigerate overnight.
  • Serve over ice with a nice lemon wedge.

Note: this recipe brews all 1 gallon of the tea through the coffee pot/machine. Plain water is not added to the gallon container -- all the water goes through the coffee machine for brewing with the tea bags. This tea is stronger than most and has a little more sugar (although you can adjust the sugar as you like). Its best to add the sugar while the tea is still warm in the container (the sugar will dissolve easier and combine into the flavor better).

This recipe makes 1 gallon of sweet tea.
